KRAYER continues to expand its position asthe top choice in the UL sector. To this end, in June 2020, our company underwent what is arguably the most demanding and rigorous certification process available, administered by the U.S.-based UL organization (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underwriters_Laboratories): certification for switchgear and control cabinets for allhazardous areas. Result: passed with flying colors.
UL Certification of Control Cabinets in Hazardous Areas
The rationale behind this certification is the same as for all UL standards: To ensure that control cabinets can be put into service without any problems in the U.S. or Canada, they are manufactured at KRAYER in Germany in accordance with the standards and—this is the key point—are immediately affixed with the corresponding UL label. This is an area of expertise in which we are leaders, thanks to our more than 30 years of cross-industry experience. Because KRAYER is tested and certified by the American UL organization, we are not only able to manufacture control cabinets in accordance with UL standards, but also to label them ourselves right away.

Less Bureaucracy in the U.S. Thanks to UL Hazardous Location Certification
Customers can therefore rest assured that there will be no unnecessary—and, above all, time-consuming—bureaucracy in the U.S. or Canada, and that the control cabinet can be put into operation immediately on site. Since we already comply with all standard regulations, we have now gone a step further and obtained certification for use in potentially explosive atmospheres in accordance with the standards applicable in the U.S. and Canada, specifically NRBX and NNNY. “Industrial Control Panels Relating to Hazardous Locations, NRBX and NNNY” is the official U.S. designation. This certification authorizes us to manufacture and label control panels used in or connected to hazardous locations. As a result, these explosion-protected systems can be put into operation in the U.S. and Canada without bureaucratic hurdles or delays.
