The latest addition to our machinery fleet, the LS900 EDGE combination laser marker from Gravotech, supports us in our UL control cabinet manufacturing, particularly in the area of engraving. We can now perform any type of laser marking inside and on your control cabinet—from nameplates to component and channel markings to warning signs. This gives us greater flexibility in the production process, while maintaining the high standard of marking quality you’ve come to expect from Krayer.
Since the 2-in-1 laser marker features two laser sources—a CO₂ laser and a fiber laser—it can engrave and cut a wide variety of materials, of which steel and stainless steel are particularly important to us. We can use the LS900 EDGE for one-off pieces as well as for small and medium-sized production runs. The fiber laser source is generated and transmitted via an optical fiber. This makes it particularly well-suited for cutting and marking hard materials. The CO₂ laser source, on the other hand, is generated using a gas mixture and an electrical discharge. It is particularly well-suited for marking transparent and organic materials that do not respond to fiber lasers.
Increase in Productivity
With the new laser marker, we can further optimize our work processes in UL’s control cabinet manufacturing, as we can now send the marking data directly from EPLAN to the printer software. EPLAN is our software solution for planning and design in control cabinet manufacturing.
“Marking at the push of a button” makes the overall manufacturing process for your control cabinets just a little bit faster. This shortens delivery times, so you receive your control cabinets sooner.

About Krayer and UL Control Panel Manufacturing
When it comes to control cabinets for export to North America and Canada, Krayer aims to be your first choice. That’s why we’re constantly working to optimize our processes. The laser marker is another step in this direction.
All control cabinets that you have us design and manufacture comply exactly with the respective UL standards. That is why we are authorized to affix the UL mark to these control cabinets ourselves. At Krayer, we have essentially become a certification body ourselves through a specialized, rigorous certification process.
We are UL-certified for the following standards:
- UL 508A for ordinary locations (OrdLoc)
- UL 698A for the Ex-i zone (HazLoc)
- UL 1203 for hazardous locations (HazLoc)
For you as a customer, UL certification is automatically included in our control panel manufacturing process. The UL mark that we affix to your control panels ensures that approval by the relevant authorities (AHJ) in North America and Canada generally proceeds without any issues.
At Krayer, you get cost certainty through our fixed-price quotes and benefit from our quick response times during the planning and design phases. You can receive your control cabinets on short notice or as scheduled, “just in time.” This allows you to remain flexible.
Do you have any questions about this topic or about UL-compliant control panel construction in general? Just send us an email at office@krayer.de. We look forward to hearing from you.
